access to archival databases (AAD): NUMIDENT, SSDI and so much more; Writing resources

Yesterday I noticed a facebook post in Thomas' Genealogy Treehouse. It mentioned a new familysearch collection. In the thread was mention to the original database outside familysearch. Down the garden path I go. As I come up for again I wonder when this came into being and how it compared to previous stuff. I still start at Cyndi's list, despite the familysearch wiki. https://www.cyndislist.com/us/social-security/ssdi/ still mentions Stephen P Morse, https://stevemorse.org/, and there it is NUMIDENT, https://aad.archives.gov/.

Started with a search on the family name Drilling down into death records, I had already gleaned that information, but I found starting a general search easier. Going down into applications instead, I cherry picked, to find  found the parents of a wife that I did not know the maiden name of. Clearly there is more on that page and other lines on the first page to drill down into. I used google docs to author my working report with links and data found. Thanks to https://www.familysearch.org/rootstech/session/getting-organized-using-technology-and-a-research-report for the push (not to mention, wishing I had done so on the updating up the hauck descendant doc.) Thanks Kelli.

Maybe it is time to poke at the wiki and maybe even watch some of the rootstech 20videos. Compromise: skimmed the downloads that accompany the videos.

Lots of stuff in the wiki, but I am not finding it terribly inspiring. Did you notice the distraction? So back to Cyndy's list and links added. Yesterday! https://www.writingfabulousfamilyhistories.com/W03-Publish-a-family-history-book

Oh, did Lisa Louise Cooke ever complete the 1950 census presentation she started for rootstech 2023?
Not finding it. Did find a self publishing one: https://youtu.be/6FtfIW3zRX4. gatewaypress, ISBN, LCN, book landing page, print on demand. Avoiding pitfalls: reviews, document source notes as you research, writers block, process including graphics, don't settle, pre release reviews, marketing, local authors, talk to older relatives. gatewaypublishing.com, gatekeeperpress.com?

Yes, in the back of mind is the collection(s) of letters I was working on last fall and some books found  at the SB library (and recorded in goodreads but not beanstack).
